STEM education that starts with a question
STEMSUP Education & Environment Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu. We help children build scientific temper: the habit of asking questions, looking for evidence and thinking things through before deciding. We do this through educational books, mentoring, scholarships, workshops, competitions and hands-on learning, with a focus on children who are often left out of good learning opportunities.
Why scientific temper matters
Article 51A(h) of the Constitution of India names developing the scientific temper, humanism and the spirit of inquiry as a duty of every citizen. For a child, it means being curious, testing ideas and changing their mind when the evidence says so. These habits help in the classroom, and just as much in everyday life: staying safe, judging a forwarded message, or solving a problem at home.
Who we work with
Our work reaches children, families, schools and community learning centres. Parents use our Little Champions books at home, teachers use them in class, and young people have benefited from our mentorship, guidance and internships. So far we have reached more than 2,000 lives, and our goal is one million by 2030.
